Troops Rescue 43 Persons, 500 Cows From Boko Haram

Troops operating in the North East Zone have rescued 43 persons and 500 cows taken by Boko Haram terrorists and have been handed over to the local authorities.

A statement by the Army Spokeperson, Col Sani Usman said Earlier on Sunday, about 8 suspected Boko Haram terrorists abducted some cattle rearers and livestock at gunpoint at Dalakalari general area, Mafa Local Government Area of Borno state.

He said some well meaning people informed the military who swung into action and pursued the terrorists. The terrorists sensing danger, ran and abandoned the livestock just before Panamri village and ran away.
