OMG: See World's worst wedding dresses [Photos]

One eccentric bride went for a regal look, with an impressive collar and diadem that wouldn't have looked out of place on a seventeenth-century monarch - made entirely out of balloons
Most brides spend months agonising over that all-important dress to ensure they look their best on their big day.

And whether they opt for a satin, ivory or lace number, they'll no doubt want to go for an elegant classic that stands the test of time.

But it seems these blushing brides were determined to stand out at any cost - wearing show-stopping numbers that turned heads for all the wrong reasons.

See more photos below...

One resourceful bride proved she had no need for a wedding cake - turning her entire gown into a cake stand. The five-tiered creation was adorned with what appear to be cupcakesOther women determined to flash the flesh on their big day included one who stepped out of a limousine with a barely-there corset which only just protected her modestyDoing away with a traditional frock altogether, one woman stepped out in a white lingerie set that was adorned with roses and gold leaves - chucking in a purple garter for good measureOne brunette beauty ensured all eyes were on her in a gown with a sweeping train adorned with orange flames - a pattern that wouldn't have looked out of place on a motorcycle helmetPutting her own unique twist on the popular trend for sheer detail, one designer created an entire dress - albeit a short one - from a transparent mesh material with lace detailOne scantily-clad bride leaves little to the imagination, with a plunging neckline and an eye-wateringly short bottom half - a daring look which was offset by a billowing veilA patriotic bride gave her dress the full American treatment, donning head-to-toe stars and stripes. Her bridesmaids (foreground) appeared to be completely decked out in blackOne wedding photographer must have had the fright of his life when his subject appeared to be spilling out of her top - despite her new husband appearing nonplussed This designer opted for an elaborate crochet design that left just the bride's head peeking out - decorated with giant bows, chunky sleeves and thick glovesOther peculiar frocks included a dress that resembled a tampon, a gown with a dramatic flame design, and one that was made out of pieces of clear plastic and toilet paper (pictured)
