Abdulaziz-Yari

Last Thursday, Cattle rustlers struck at Yan’yawa community under Kanoma district of Maru local government area of Zamfara State abducting three housewives, and killing a pregnant woman.

The rustlers who, eyewitness say besieged the community in the late evening, were also alleged to have carted away over 100 cows and allegedly wounded some members of the community.

An eyewitness, Musa Sadisu told newsmen on phone that the rustlers struck in large group at about 11.00pm and surrounded the whole community, at a time when majority were asleep.

The witness said in the operation which lasted for more than three hours, the bandits kidnapped three women, shot one pregnant woman on her belly “bearing twin children, blowing open her womb and left her dead,” he narrates.

He recalls that three days before the attack on his community, the bandits have earlier attacked Rayau village in a similar brutal manner near Kanoma Town where they run away with over 100 cows and sheep belonging to the community, reportedly injuring many people

“As I am speaking to you, days later since the incidence, we have not seen any security personnel coming to our rescue, while we still go through sleepless nights in fear of similar fevent,” he lamented. He called on the government and security agents to help them get out of the situation.
